Mary Wilma Shaw, 94, passed away peacefully Friday, October 27, 2017 at Louisville East Post Acute Care. She was born in Louisville August 13, 1923.
She was preceded in death by parents, Robert T. & Teresa V. Knopp Maupin, her siblings, Lou Schoenbachler, Leo Maupin, Kenny Maupin, Libby Burns, Clifford Maupin and a grandson, Paul Raque.
Wilma was retired from GTE of California (now Verizon) and was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of the Arcadia unit at Louisville East and the Hosparus team for their care and support for Wilma and our family.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Linda McClendon (Woody), James Raque (Mary Jane), Gary Shaw, Mary Shaw, Joseph Shaw (Judy); four grandchildren, Jennifer Carson (Brad), Gregory McClendon (Christine), Kelsey Shaw and Jillian Shaw; five great grandchildren, Alex and Jack Carson, Patrick, Charlie and Andrew McClendon.
A funeral mass celebrating Wilma's life will be held 10:30 AM Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at St. Paul Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 on Monday at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home 4400 Dixie Hwy.
Memorial are suggested to the Alzheimers Association, Greater Louisville and Southern Indiana Chapter, Kaden Towers, 6100 Dutchmans Lane Suite 401, Louisville Ky. 40205.
