CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) STATEMENT
Louisville Memorial Gardens West understands the severity and the risk involved with the Coronavirus (Covid-19). As a public entity, we want to assure you that we are taking this Pandemic very seriously and are taking all necessary precautions to ensure that we reduce your risk to exposure while in attendance at our facility.
We are closely monitoring all communications by the Center for Disease Control and the National Funeral Directors Association as well as our local and state health agencies regarding all information on the Coronavirus (Covid-19).
To ensure that your risk is minimized while attending an event at our facility, we have put the following Emergency Plan in place:
When family members come to the cemetery office to sign paperwork for an Interment, Entombment or Inurnment, there will be a maximum of 3 family members allowed in the arrangement room. Any others will be asked to wait in the lobby area.
Whether the service is Graveside or inside the Chapel, visitors will be limited to 10 people. Maintaining the recommended 6ft distance apart will be expected.
Funeral Services will be limited to 10 IMMEDIATE family members. Maintaining the recommended 6ft distance apart will also be expected during these services.
Our staff will make environmental cleaning procedures top priority. Every 4 hours (at least) all door handles, knobs, faucets, toilets, water fountains, and any other surfaces that come into human contact will be thoroughly cleaned with an antibacterial agent. Trash cans will be emptied frequently.
Hot beverages will be available for our families but will be prepared by our staff and dispensed from CLOSED brewing containers as opposed to open air traditional coffee pots. Hot tea and cocoa will be prepared by a staff member upon request. Condiments (i.e., creamer pods and sugars) are individually wrapped and will be available to our families. Plastic tongs will be available to pick up these items. Bottled water will be available upon request (for as long as we can get it).
4.Hand Sanitizer, Kleenex and bacterial wipes will be provided (for as long as we can get them).
5.This plan will be in place for as long as deemed necessary based on CDC guidelines.
Honoring and remembering a life is always our top priority, but public health and safety are first and foremost in our minds during this time. We have devised this plan for your protection, but we advise that if you have any concerns or apprehension about attending our facility, please stay safe at home.
