Theodore Hobbs

Theodore Roosevelt Hobbs, 81, passed away on Wednesday November 27, 2019, surrounded by his family, at Norton Healthcare.

He was born in Waco, Texas to the late Roy Jasper and Addie Mae (Henderson) Hobbs on September 27, 1938.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by siblings, Floyd Hobbs, Roy Hobbs, Lee-Artry Hobbs, Artha Hobbs, and Addie Mae Moffett.

Theodore retired as a Staff Sergeant for the Army and served in the Korean Conflict and Vietnam and was stationed in Okinawa and Germany. Later in life, he sold life insurance.

Theodore was a great man; he was always fair and honest.  He could be stern but very sweet, too.  He was very well rounded because he loved to fish, sing, play bass guitar, you didn’t dare challenge him to darts, and when the music came on he was dancing!  And he never met a stranger and no one left his house hungry.

He is survived by his children, Theodore, Jr., Joanne, Roslyn, Theodore, III, James, Sherry, AnSong (Anna), Jannet, DeWayne, and Tajaune along  with several  grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his sister Ruby Faye Alexander.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:00 at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 4400 Dixie Highway.  Visitation will be Friday from 11:00 am until time of service.
