Thelma Kay McNalley Gathof, 80, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away unexpectedly on April 29, 2024, with her loving family by her side. Thelma was born on October 18, 1943, to the late Edward and Josephine McNalley, in Louisville, Kentucky.
Thelma was known for her heart of gold and her kind, caring spirit. She took care of everyone, whether family or friend. She was blessed to have been married to the love of her life, Ronald L. Gathof, Sr., for more than 60 years before his passing. Thelma never met a stranger and enjoyed talking to people and genuinely caring about what they had to say. She was an excellent mother and grandmother and her greatest joy was taking care of her grandbabies. Her legacy will be a giving spirit and love for others. She will be surely missed by all that were blessed to know her.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 60 years, Ronald L. Gathof, Sr.; her grandson, Ronnie A. Gathof; and her parents, Edward McNalley and Josephine Furgeson.
Thelma is survived by her children, Rhonda and Tidell Wilson, Ruthie Gathof, Ronald and Nancy Gathof, Missy and Tony Harp, and William Harris; along with her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, and extended family members and friends.
A funeral service to honor Thelma's life will be held at 6:00 PM, on Friday, May 3, 2024, at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Homes West, 4400 Dixie Highway. Visitation will be on Friday from 11:00 AM until the service time at the funeral home. Interment will be private at Louisville Memorial Gardens Cemetery West.
