“And God Shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying neither shall there be anymore pain: for the former things have passed away.” Rev. 21:4
The Lord has promised that he would come again and take the faithful to a place of rest, where he has prepared for them to live with him forever.
Early Sunday morning, June 25, 2023, our loved one, Mrs. Susie Mae Dobbins was called from labor to reward. Born to Willie Bessie and John Henry Todd on April 6, 1938 in Chambers County, Lafayette, Alabama, she was the oldest of four children.
After moving to Louisville, KY, Susie worked for Jefferson County Public Schools and Norton Hospital, retiring from both. During her retirement she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Susie was preceded in death by her brothers Joe and James Todd. Susie leaves to cherish her memories her children: Perry Dobbins (Barbara), Winnie Jacobs (Curtis), Sharron Abernathy (Michael Sr.), Belinda Dobbins, Yvonne Young (Timothy), and Keith Dobbins; Sister, Ruby Helen Pitts; Grandchildren: Jason Dobbins, Evan Dobbins (Tarrah), Michael Abernathy, Jr. (Amanda), Michele Abernathy, Nicole Pettey, Ronald Pettey, Alexis Dobbins, Isiah Young (Denisha), and Andre Waller. She also leaves a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and devoted friends.
God saw that she was getting tired,
A cure was not to be.
So he put his arms around her
And whispered, “Come with Me.”
With tearful eyes, we watched her suffer.
And saw her fade away.
Although we loved her dearly,
We could not make her stay.
A golden heart stopped beating.
Her hardworking hands was put to rest.
