Richard 'Rick' Thornton Wilkins

Wilkins, Richard T., 81, of Louisville, KY died in St. Pete, FL, on June 15th, 2023 surrounded by
his loving wife of 47 years and their family. A native of Birmingham, AL, Wilkins was a graduate
of the University of Alabama and a lifelong fan of the Crimson Tide. He’d lived in Louisville, KY
since 1975, retiring from Neil Huffman Auto Group in 2011. Rick, as friends and family called
him, loved spending time with his dogs, houseboating on Rough River, and cruising the
Caribbean with his wife Janice.
He is predeceased by his parents John and Ann Wilkins, his brother Terry, in-laws George “Bud”
and Gladys Bibelhauser, and brother-in-law Dave Bibelhauser.
Rick is survived by his wife Janice, son Rick (Kelly), daughter Lisa Steeley (Mark); nine
grandchildren, Justin, Jacob, Hunter, Landon, Alec, Peyton, Julia, Grace and Grant; four
great-grandchildren; a brother, Fred; and many other loving family members.
Visitation will be at Louisville Memorial Gardens (West) Thursday June 22, 2023 from 4pm to
7pm. Funeral services will be the following day at noon.
