RINGEL, DAVID R., MD, 73, died October 2, 2011 at Norton Hospital in Louisville.
He was born in Chicago, IL, the son of the late Cecil and Ada Ringel. Dr. Ringel had a medical practice for many years in Louisville, along with an office in Brandenburg. Dr. Ringel was an avid UK basketball fan.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary and step son Joe Bingham.
Dr. Ringel is survived by two daughters, Lisa (Dale) Williams, Cheryl (Kenneth) Haddix; one son Ken (Melissa) Ringel; grandchildren Mary, Michael, Caroline and Eli; two step children, Susan (Jack) Burrice and David (Kathe) Bingham; step grandchildren, Amber, Allison, Karen, Tom; great-grandchildren, Jill, Rowan and Cami.
A memorial gathering will be 11 a.m. -1 p.m. Wednesday at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 4400 Dixie Hwy.
A memorial service will be at 1 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
