Geneva Means

Martha Geneva Means, 96, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2022. Geneva was born on July 28, 1926, in Cunningham, Kentucky, to the late Venard and Gladys (McGarry) Unsell.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Kenneth Means.

Geneva is survived by her children, Barbara McBride (David), Karen Farris (Ken), and Martha Means (Phil); her dogs that she loved like children, Rosie and Sophie; her six grandchildren, Ryan Farris (Kara) and Brittany Farris of Louisville, Emily McBride, Andrew McBride, Amy McBride and Bethany Thompson of Florida, and her five great grandchildren.

Geneva spent her career working for Lang as the Supervising Bookkeeper and she belonged to the American Businesswomen Association.  She had a great love for dogs, and treated Rosie and Sophie like her children.  Geneva enjoyed going to the casino to play penny slot machines to pass the time, sometimes even winning.  Mostly, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Funeral services for Geneva will be held at 11AM on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home West, 4400 Dixie Highway, with Jim Ivey officiating.  Friends may call on the family on Wednesday from 10AM until service time.

Memorial donations may be made to the Kentucky Humane Society.
