Martha Ann Goodlett

On the early morning of Sunday, December 17th, 2023, Martha passed away peacefully at Jewish Hospital. Martha was 83 years of age and surrounded by her loving family.

Martha was born in Jefferson County, Louisville, Kentucky, and was one of three siblings.

Martha married the love of her life, Kenneth E. Goodlett, and they were married for 61 years. It turns out, Goodlett brothers married Miller sisters.

Early in life, Martha enjoyed boating and skiing, going to the rock quarry and hanging out on sandy beaches.  Drag racing--yes, it's true--going to Harris County with Kenneth, frequently winning trophies.

Later in life Martha enjoyed family gatherings, motorcycle riding, and especially shopping at Target and Big Lots.

She loved reading People Magazine, watching Kentucky Wildcats basketball, The Masked Singer and Judge Judy. She would always say she was helping Judge Judy.

Martha worked at several financial institutions, which would explain her savvy business smarts.

Martha was an avid giver to many charities and loved giving toys to the neighborhood children at Christmas time, she had a heart of gold.

Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth E. Goodlett; and her parents, Virgil H. Miller and Mary Elizabeth Miller (Lawson).

Martha is survived by her children, Kenneth Goodlett (Linda), Kimberly Vanover (Darryl), Kathy Dennis (Anthony), and Kevin Goodlett; her sister, Carol L. Goodlett; her half brother, Virgil H. Miller; her  grandchildren, Brian, Jennifer, Beth, Darryl Jr., Karissa, James, Kensley, Christi, and Chief, along with her fifteen great-grandchildren.

Services are to be held at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Homes West, on Saturday, December 23, 2023, with visitation from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm, with a funeral service immediately to follow at 2:00 pm.
