Leroy Houchens

Leroy Houchens, 71, loving husband to Carol Hamm Houchens, passed away on Wednesday March 1, 2017 at home. He was born to the late Malcolm and Helen Black Houchens in Louisville on July 17, 1945. He is also preceded in death by children Debra Houchens and Larry Zabel.
Leroy was a cab driver for many years with the Yellow Cab Company and a member of Valley Station Church of God.
Besides his wife of 26 years, he is survived by children: Ricky Houchens, Sharon Houtchens (Wayne), Karen Brock (Ronnie), Charles Houchens (Laura), Marsha Cecil (Matt), Cynthia Hileman, Angela McKee (Chris), along with grandchildren; Shelby, Evan, Justin, Nicholas, Autumn, Devin, Alec, Matthew, Ronnie, Tracey, Haley, Bryan, Victoria, Troy, William, Evan , Peyton, great-grandchildren; Gavin, Waylon, Lincoln, Jason, Adrianna, Caiden, Joey, Savannah, Aubrey, Dahlyla, and Jaylee. He is also survived by his siblings, Shirley Ramsey, Janet Southard (Henry), Danny Houchens (Debbie), Terry Houchens, andsister-in-law, Susie Fry (Randy).
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:00 pm at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 4400 Dixie Highway. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11:00 am until time of service.
