Judith Janeal McBride

Judith Janeal Watson McBride, 76, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 30th, 2022, at Signature at Rockford Nursing Home. She was born in Louisville, Kentucky on November 27th, 1946, to her loving parents, Robert (Bob) and Mary (Nenney)) Watson.

Janeal was a compassionate and loving Mother, Granny, and Ganny to her children and grandchildren. She was a constant in their lives and was at all the kids sporting activities, school and church functions faithfully to cheer them on and show her love for them with her presence. Janeal was so proud of her family. Her compassionate heart didn’t stop with her family, Janeal was the neighborhood Granny for many years when she lived on Earl Avenue. She made such an impact in the neighborhood that once grown, the kids would regularly come by to still visit with her. Janeal’s loving spirit will surely be missed by all that knew her.

She spent her career taking care of others as well. Janeal worked for Norton Suburban Hospital, KFC, and retired from St. Mary and Elizabeth Hospital. She was very active at Beechmont Baptist Church and served on their Hospitality Committee for years.  Janeal loved her church family and despite being bedridden for years, she was able to stay connected as her Sunday School teacher, and dear friend, B J Dunbar called her every Sunday afternoon and they had Sunday School over the phone.

Janeal was preceded in death by her parents, Robert (Bob) and Mary (Nenney) Watson.

She is survived by her children, Lara Hurt, Joe McBride (Tiffany), and Lisa McBride (Tony); her grandchildren, Anthony Alvey (Kayla), Christian Hurt, Jeremiah Hurt, Joseph Hurt, and Cheyenne McBride; and her great grandson, Maverick Alvey.
