Joseph C. Schutte, III

Joseph C. Schutte III, 75, passed away on February 27, 2024. Joe was born on August 6, 1948, to the late Joseph C. Schutte Jr. and Peggy Martin Schutte. Joe graduated from Bishop David High School in 1966.  He dedicated his life to serving as a Jefferson County Police Officer until his retirement in 2001. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing as much as he could. Most of all he loved spending time with his family.

Joe was preceded in death by his son, Brian Schutte.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Schutte of 56 years; his son, Michael Schutte (Kendra); daughter-in-law Melissa Schutte, grandchildren, Cody, Bailey, Mackenzie and Nic; siblings, Bob Schutte (Susan) and Margaret Marks (Tom).

A memorial service for Joe will be on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 4400 Dixie Highway, beginning at 7:00 pm. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00pm.  FOP service will be at 6:00pm.
