John "Jay" Gibson

John “Jay” Clifton Gibson, 84, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2022 at Baptist Health in Louisville.  He was born on September 21, 1937, in Lynch Kentucky, the son of the late Floyd and Irene Gibson.  Jay was drafted into the Army in 1961, graduated first in his class in Armor School, and was assigned to the 2nd Armor Division where he served as a driver for the chief of staff.  He retired from LG&E as a gas supervisor and volunteered at Summerfield Nursing Home for 10 years. Jay enjoyed golf, fishing, and spending time at Herrington Lake with his family.  He is survived by his son, Ben (Pamela) Gibson, brother, Steve Gibson (Danielle), several nieces and nephews, and his beloved canine companion, Sally.  He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Ruby.
