Joann Roberts

Joann Roberts, 84, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on August 3, 2022.  She was born August 14, 1937, in Cave Springs, Georgia, to the late Cater Tate and Gladys Laura (Oaks) Blankenship.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her 7 sisters and 1 brother.

Left to cherish the memories of Joann’s life is her husband of 37 years, George Roberts; her three children, Mark Semar (Julie), Patty Haycraft (Ricky) and Daniel Semar; her stepchildren, Greg Roberts (Judy), Danette Roberts, Paul Roberts (Carina) and Neal Roberts (Charlotte); her eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Joann was a member of Greenwood United Baptist Church, where she became a Born-Again Christian.  She loved going to church, Sunday school and living for God.  Many friends were made at the different churches she attended while living in various places.  Joann loved going to the beach in Florida and insisted on having a clean home.  She enjoyed watching University of Louisville basketball, but most of all, she loved spending time with her precious family.  Joann never missed a holiday or birthday with her family and always found a way to make it special.

Funeral services to celebrate Joann’s life will be held at Noon on Monday, August 8, 2022, at Louisville Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home West, 4400 Dixie Highway.  Interment will immediately follow.  Friends may call on the family on Sunday, August 7, 2022, from 2PM until 7PM at the funeral home.
