Jenny Lian Wu

Jenny Wu, 71, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2024.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Gary Wu, and survived by their three children: Michael Wu (Hong Chen), Kevin Wu, and Christina Wu; and their five grandchildren: Brianna, Chelsey, Jaylen, Jason, and Brandon. Jenny Wu was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was the eldest daughter with a younger brother, Sam, and younger sister, Lian Bao.

Growing up in China, she worked long days and nights as a farmer. She worked hard all her life. She became a US Citizen with her husband Gary after the family moved to Louisville. She started working as a chef at the “House of Chen” restaurant (formerly on Dixie Hwy), and worked the rest of her time at Yanfeng Automotive. She loved to cook, especially “orders of crab rangoons and egg rolls” her grandchildren asked her to make. She made the best bao, guajoongtay “zongzi”, and ham sui gok. She loved gardening and cooking with the vegetables they grew in the garden. She also loved shopping and was always looking for the best deals. She loved being silly and laughing deeply with her family and friends. She was a “firecracker” and a strong-willed woman. Her fierce love and perseverance will carry on in all who knew her.
