Janet Peak

d. May 20, 2021

Our precious mother, Janet Laverne Peak, age 73, of Fuquay Varina, North Carolina passed away peacefully on May 20, 2021 surrounded by her family. Janet battled cancer with grace, faith, and courage, never complaining, and always with a smile and kind word for everyone. Left to cherish her memory are her beloved children, Rebecca (Mike) Mauzy of Kentucky and Kimberly (John) Moon of North Carolina, two sisters, Doris (Ronnie) Bennett, Betty Johnson, seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Janet was reunited with her adored parents, sisters, and brothers as she entered heaven’s gate.

Janet devoted her life to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. They were the light of her life and she loved them immensely. Janet’s friends knew her as a kind and devoted person, who they could always count on to lend a hand and listening ear. Janet had a witty sense of humor and fun-loving personality that will be treasured in our hearts forever.

Friends wishing to honor Janet are invited to donate in her name to St. Jude’s Children Hospital, Duke Children’s Hospital, or to your local animal shelter.

Family and friends are welcome to say their final goodbyes to Janet, at a Graveside Service, on May 26, 2021 at 10 am ET at Louisville Memorial Gardens, 4400 Dixie Highway, Louisville, Ky 40216. An open house to share memories and celebrate a life well lived will be held at the family home in North Carolina. Please email The Moon Family at 8moonskm@gmail.com for additional information.

Her children would like to thank Dr. Corey Mussleman, Duke Hospital Transplant team, and Transitions Hospice Care of North Carolina for their care and support to their mother.
