James "Pete" Herman Woehler

James “Pete” Herman Woehler, 90, of Mount Washington, Kentucky, passed away on July 2, 2023.  He was born on January 17, 1933, to the late James and Berl Woehler in Louisville, Kentucky.

Pete retired from CSX after many decades. He loved fishing and making videos of church sermons and cassettes of The Gaither Quartet for others.  Pete dedicated his life to the Lord.

To know him, was to love him. He showed others Christ’s love, through his kind and thoughtful actions. Whether he was giving out candy or saying a specific prayer, those around him knew he cared. In our precious Pete’s presence, you could feel the peace he’d found in Jesus. He was the strong and steady rock of our family, and our hearts will yearn until we see him again. 

Preceding Pete in death was his loving wife, Dora Woehler; and his brother, Everett Woehler.

Left to cherish the memories of Pete’s long life is his daughter, Angela Cosman (Paul); granddaughters, Michelle James (Scott) and Dena Alexander (Tony); grandchildren, Lexi, Bradford, and Demi; his daughter, Tonna Carter; granddaughters, Melissa Price and family and Christy Lloyd and family.

A funeral service with military rites will be held at 5PM, on Thursday, July 6, 2023, at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Homes West, 4400 Dixie Highway, with Pastor Steven Webb officiating.  Friends may call on the family on Thursday from 3PM until service time.  Interment will be private in Louisville Memorial Gardens Cemetery West.

A celebration of life reception will immediately follow the funeral with a light meal at the funeral home.
