Geneva Hurd

Geneva Hurd, 93, passed away on June 9, 2022, in New Albany, Indiana.  She was born July 15, 1928, in Knoxville, Tennessee, to the late Tina.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leland (Bud) Hurd; her son, Terry; her sisters, Helen and Julia; along with her loving mother, Tina.

Left to cherish the sweet memory of Geneva is her grandchildren, Steven Hurd (Stephanie), Sean Hurd, Colin Hurd (Ashley), and Hunter Hurd (Amanda); her great-grandchildren, Easton Hurd, Reece Hurd, and Ronan Hurd; nieces and nephews, June Issiacs, Barbara Fliben (Tom), Judy Hicks (Jim), David Travis (Susan); along with a host of beloved great-nieces and great-nephews.

Geneva and her husband, Bud, enjoyed 66 years of marriage and they loved traveling the country together.  She was a natural artist and painted many beautiful murals.  Geneva was a very frugal homemaker and loved spending time with her precious family.

The family wishes to thank the Southern Care Hospice and the staff at Autumn Woods for all of their amazing care.

A funeral service will be held to celebrate Geneva’s wonderful life on Thursday, June 16, 2022, at Noon at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home West, 4400 Dixie Highway.  Friends may call Wednesday, June 15, 2022, from 5PM till 8PM and on Thursday from 10AM until service time at the funeral home.
