Emma Jean McIver, 78, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2024. She was born on August 11, 1945 in Parksville, Kentucky. She was a woman that realized early in life that she wanted to be more than just what she came from. That goal was achieved by her hard work and perseverance throughout her life.
Once Emma Jean moved to Louisville she worked tirelessly in factories to give her children more than they could ever need, along with vast opportunities. She was a natural caregiver and found employment doing what she loved, caring for others as a Home Caregiver. This was an easy transition for Emma Jean, as she always took wonderful care of everyone, family or otherwise. She had an enormous heart and enjoyed showing it to others by loving everyone. Emma Jean never met a stranger. She loved a good bargain and prided herself on never paying full price for anything. Later in life she obtained her GED, which brought her a huge sense of pride and accomplishment. She loved to travel, whether it was to Nags Head with her loving husband of 55 years, Windell Larry McIver, or to visit the different places her son, Richard, was stationed. Emma Jean loved flowers and gardening and was known as a quite authentic and charming person. She is a bright example of the American dream, she knew what she wanted to achieve in life and she made it happen. Her legacy will be the lasting impression of love she made on every single person that knew her throughout her amazing life.
Emma Jean has now been reunited in Heaven with her mother, Clara Lou Brown; and her son that she has missed so very much, Morris Glenn Weldon, Jr..
Left to cherish the precious memories of Emma Jean's life are her loving husband of 55 years, Windell Larry McIver; her children, Richard Weldon and Mariasa McIver (Tina); her grandchildren, Richard James Weldon, Michael Anthony Weldon, and David Eugene Weldon; along with many other extended family members and friends.
