Donald Lee Borders, Jr.

Donald Lee Borders, Jr., 62, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2024.  Donald was born on January 19, 1962, to the late Donald L. Borders, Sr. and Wanda (Mitchell) Borders, in Louisville, Kentucky.

Junior was a man that was private with his time, but he had a heart of gold.  He arguably was the biggest University of Louisville basketball fan.  Junior was witty and humorous and was known to be an excellent friend.  He enjoyed going to McDonald's and meeting new people.  Most of all, he enjoyed his family and he was surely loved by them.  Junior will be missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing him.

Preceding Junior in death was his parents; his brother, Timothy Borders; and his grandparents, Herbert Mitchell and Mabel Mitchell.

Left to remember Junior is his daughter, Ashley Borders Phipps; his sister, Karen Borders; his brother, Michael Borders (Denise); his grandson, Colton Brown; along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, extended family and close friends.

A funeral service will be held to honor Junior's life at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 2, 2024, at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Homes West, 4400 Dixie Highway, with interment to follow in the cemetery.  Visitation will be on Thursday from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
