Betty Ann Rutledge

Betty Ann Rutledge, 88, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2023.  She was born in Morgan County, Alabama, on December 2, 1934, to the late Sam and Pearly (Carpenter) Morland.

Betty married the love of her life, Dennis, in September 1951 and they enjoyed 71 years of marriage, with Dennis passing away on April 2, 2023.  Betty was a member of Cloverleaf Baptist Church.  For many years she enjoyed growing vegetables in her garden.  Betty was a loving and compassionate grandmother and loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren fiercely.  She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed sewing clothing.  Betty worked alongside Dennis for many years, assisting him in running their business, Rutledge Rental & Repair.  She was a loving and supportive wife to Dennis, not only with the business, but with his work with the Masonic Lodge, as well.

Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dennis Rutledge; her grandparents that raised her, Mr., and Mrs. Carpenter; her brothers, Hubert Moland, Earl Moland, Jr., and A.H. Boots Moland.

Surviving Betty is her children, Howard Rutledge (Mary) and Janice Wells (David); her grandchildren, Jason Wells (Amy), Sarah Dishon (Ronnie), Joshua Rutledge (Kristin), Jed Rutledge, Stuart Rutledge, and Kristen Moreh (Yoni); along with her great-grandchildren, Carson, Alaina, James, Noah, Lilly, Leila, Rivkah and Haiya.

A funeral service will be held at Noon on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Homes West, 4400 Dixie Highway.  Friends may call on the family at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5PM until 8PM and on Thursday from 10AM until the time of the service at Noon.
