Emma Della Cecil, 88, wife to the late Lucian T. Cecil, passed away on Tuesday January 5, 2021 at Wesley Manor Nursing Home. She was born to the late Leroy and Flossie (Emberton) Johnson in Taylor County, Kentucky on July 4, 1932. She is also preceded in death by a daughter Karen Pinkston and a son-in-law, Tom Brown.
Della worked for General Electric and retired after 35 years of service. She was a long-time member of Shively Christian Church and a current member of Kenwood Heights Christian Church.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Bonnie Farley (Curtis), Grace Brown, Cherie Kenney, Debbie Dyer (Tim), Lena Roff (Brad), and Tommy Cecil (Allison) along with her sister, Geneva Cheek. She will also be missed by her grandchildren, Stephen, Shawn, Rebekah, Laura, Jessie, Jami, Emilie, Ethan, Dean, Billy, Rachel, Neil, Carly, Jason, Sasha, Losha, and great-grandchildren, Jacob, Cole, Olivia, Hannah, Taylor, Eden, Cayden, Jayden, Oakley, Amae, Hazel, Hunter, Ailena, and Violet with a dear niece and nephew, Tammy Miles and Jerry Davis.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 1:00 pm at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 4400 Dixie Highway. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-6 pm at the funeral home.
Due to COVID restrictions, masks are to be worn for visitation and service and social distancing is expected.
