Thelma Mobley

Thelma Mobley, 83, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2024.  Thelma was born in Louisville, Kentucky, on February 13, 1941, to the late Carl and Sarah (Carmen) Tharp.

Thelma retired from General Electric after working for many years.  She loved to spend her time travelling, especially to her condo in Orange Beach, Alabama.  Thelma was an extremely avid University of Kentucky fan, always cheering on the basketball and football teams.  She was strong willed, even refusing any beer other than her Bud Light.  You always knew where you stood with Thelma and she will be missed by all that knew her.

Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Sarah Tharp; her husband, James; her daughter, Karen; and her siblings, Barbara, Carl Jr., Charles, and Janice.

Thelma leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Homes West, 4400 Dixie Highway.  Entombment will immediately follow.

In leau of flowers the family is requesting memorial donations can be made in Thelma's name to The American Heart Association.
