James Payne

James Wallace Payne passed away August 14, 2024. He was born to the late James Payne and Nancy Graham on December 10, 1943. Left to carry on Jims love and memories is his wife of sixty-one years Sharon Payne. He is survived by his loving daughters Cathleen Byarlay, Lisa Morabito (Fran) and his five beautiful grandchildren; Mitchell Byarlay, Sydney Roby (Andrew), Morgan Byarlay, Olivia Morabito, and Rachel Byarlay. He was devoted to his family and ensured they were always top priority. He was preceded in death by his brother Ronald Payne. He will be missed deeply by his surviving siblings; Paul Payne (Theresa), Donald Payne (Tina), Barbara Mattingly, Stewart Payne (Kay) and Mary Ann Champion (Willie). Jim had a deep love for his family and enjoyed spending time with his friends. He also loved traveling and making new friends, music, golf and cars. The family would like to send a special thank you to the doctors and nurses at Uof L St. Mary and Elizabeth Hospital for their excellent care and concern during Jim's final days. Expressions of sympathy to Wounded Warrior Project, or to the American Cancer Society. Visitation and will take place on Friday, August 23, 2024 from 2:00pm - 4:00pm. Service will take place at 4:00pm. There will be a private inurnment at a later date for the family.
