Frankie Byrd

Frankie B. Byrd, 79, loving wife to Jim Byrd, passed away, surrounded by family, at her daughter’s home on Thursday April 11, 2019.  She was born to the late Otha and Marie (Overfelt) Thompson in Horse Cave, Kentucky.  She is also preceded in death by a son, Timothy Poynter.

Frankie was a retired chemical operator for Borden Chemical, a member of Beechland Baptist Church, and an Eastern Star in the Shively Lodge #566.

Besides her husband of 14 years, she is survived by her children, Rick Poynter (Marjorie), Beverly Henderson (Mike), step-children, Shonni Ryan (Daniel), Debbie Wilkerson (Greg), Daryl Byrd (Beverly) along with 11 grandchildren: Christie Albritton (Gary), Amanda Clements (Harley), David Poynter (Vickie), Timothy Poynter, Blake Henderson (Lynn), Sarah Hutchison (Jason), Taylor Roden (Jared), Shelby Henderson, Talon Poynter, Randi Thixton and Jamie Lynn Fielder (Daniel).  She will also be missed by her 12 great-grandchildren and a host of friends in St. Petersburg, Florida.

A memorial service will be held Thursday at 6:00 pm at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 4400 Dixie Highway.   Visitation will be Thursday from 2:00 pm until time of service.
